Guinot, the first Cremant de Limoux

It was prepared by the firm GUINOT in 1913.

In 1985, the Imperial Cremant was dedicated to the memoiry of a customer: The Tzar Nicolas II from Russia.

Appellation Cremant de Limoux is made from varieties of white grape "Mauzac", "Chenin" (freshness) and "Chardonnay" ( fragrances, a floral bouquet).

B 701 : Brut Tendre. Supple and golden, with fine soft bubbles, the aroma is floral and expensive. With its round harmonious flavor, "the BRUT Tendre ", aged 5 years with 30% Chardonnay will be appreciated at any point in the meal from appetizer to dessert.

B 703 : " Crémant GUINOT " Bubbles tiny and persistent. The nose is expressive and floral. With its pale gold color and its total balance, its makes the aperitif "par excellence".


Region : The vineyards entitled to the label are situated within 41 districts in the Aude Valley in SW France. The wines are planted on stony, chalk-rich slopes with southern exposure. The yield is limited and the harvest is done by hand.

Grapes : Three grape varieties : Chardonnay, Chenin and Mauzac;
A blend of several exceptionally fine years.

Aged : A minimum of 4 to 5 years in the bottle.

Qualities : This blend is distinguished by its lightness, richness of fruit flavours, and aroma.
Both smooth and very dry, with a delicate golden foam, and a striking floral scent, "Imperial Guinot" possesses a mature, full, taste.
It can be enjoyed as an aperitif or with dessert. Selected as exceptional by the "Guide Hachette des Vins", "Bottin Gourmand" and " Parkers Selection"
This golden wine is a true " Cremant" featuring a light and refined effervescence.

The [appelation] is in the department of th Aude,around the City of Limoux, in the High Valley of the Aude.  
It is oldest Wine of Country. It was produced one century before the Champagne of Pérignon Grant Product by three [cépages], the Chardonnay, White Chenin and Mauzac ( the most important ), this wine reaches a near quality of the one of Champagne no [millésimé] for only the third of price. The best Blanquette of Limoux are those of the Guinot House, White of White."
